A request from Wolfjesyo

~.~.~.~

The palpitating beat of loud music has everything dancing in a rhythmic pulse, draining every bit of your energy as the music picks up with a deafening chorus of various instruments that leaks out of the towering speakers. The movement of bodies becomes tight and the heat makes their skin glow under the dim lighting. You can hardly breathe under the thick blanket of smoke and the strong smell of alcohol, and you could pretty much taste every concoction that sat at every table around the small house. Just watching everyone move around made you sleepy, and you hardly know anyone here. Only some faces are recognisable through the sickening smoke.

You drink some water and try to look alive, but every time you see a couple kissing or let your eyes wander around the furious dancing of drunk teens it just brought a heavy feeling of drowsiness to every part of your body. You look at your lap and try to relax, having no choice but to breathe in the polluted air.

The music has your heart dancing along with the other people in the room, but the forced flow of beats only flutters your eyes until they're shut from all that surrounds you. With no strength to fight against the consuming exhaustion, you let yourself sleep.

Within seconds, a soft shake awakens you and you are now filled with bursting attention, looking around until a pair of blue orbs anchors you down to earth. Armins smiles sweetly and speaks loudly into your ear.

"It's not a good idea to sleep here."

    "Sorry," you yell back.

The golden haired boy smiles and shakes his head in amusement. You feel heat rush to your cheeks and look upon the rest of the crowd to silence the sirens going of in your head. He's sitting next to you, shoulders touching because of a couple on the other side of the couch. Armin turns to you and yells in your ear again, his breath sending chills across your skin.

"You want to get out of here? I can tell you don't like being here."

As shy as you are you take no time in agreeing with his request and follow him outside. The silence of the night is refreshing and calming as the both of you get farther away from the lively house, all the energy you lost returning in soft waves of cool air that twisted in between the branches of trees and whistled in your ears.

Armin smiles softly. "Are you okay?"

You nod, hoping that the night sky hides your blushing cheeks from his watchful eyes. His blue orbs seem to glow under the blanket of scattered stars.

"We can actually breathe out here," Armin said, laughing full heartedly.

You joined him, enjoying the sweet sound of his laughter. He kept on smiling as the booming sounds of loud music got quieter. The silence you share was soothing, a calming space of tranquility that brought a small smile to your lips.

    "(Name)," Armin said.

    "Yes?"

"There's a small bookstore outside of this neighborhood, would you like to go with me? I know you don't like going to parties, so maybe going there will be better."

Your light steps against the sidewalk stopped as you stared with rosy cheeks at the blond boy, his blue orbs sharp and slightly embarrassed. They refused to look at you for too long before finding an interest amongst the ground he walked on.

"Uhh...s-sure. Okay." You tried not to fumble on your words, but his growing smile perched your throat until words could no longer be formed.

Armin leaned in a bit, searching your face and you could swear his smile turned into a small smirk for a short second.

"Are you sure you're all right?" His blue gaze was focused on your bashful skin. "Your cheeks seem to be getting red."

A laugh ventures away from your lips; a horrible one that's just as nervous as you.

"N-No, I'm fine. Really. Ahh...I'm not good with guys so...I don't know what to do."

Armin laughs tenderly, the wind carrying the melody and singing it sweetly in your ears.

"There's no reason to be nervous (Name)! We're friends, so just relax okay?" His smile is still on his lips.

    "O-Okay."

While the moon and stars still reign the night, the two of you move onwards to the silent building that seems to rise in the distance. It's golden lights shimmer through the windows in the early atmosphere of nightfall, and the books lie in wait with bold covers that yearn to be opened.

You appreciated the quietness that was left intact, and you loved how Armin didn't bother with small talk. The hush of the night was enough to calm your nerves, and while Armin holds the door with that persistent smile still on his rosey lips, all panic washes away as the cool air of the bookstore flows out into the night and embraces you with the absence of sound.

The soft friction of feet against carpet and the occasional whisper amongst people is all that floats in the quiet air of the bookstore. You let yourself smile and feel Armin come up next to you, taking your hand lightly and guides you through the freshly published novels. Heat begins to flush once again on your cheeks, but you follow the blond prince with a racing heart.

While browsing through the shelves, Armin speaks up in a hushed tone. His hand is still connected with yours.

"(Name), would it be okay if I asked you something?"

You nod, looking at him with curious (e/c) colored eyes.

"It's okay if you don't want to answer, but I would like to know as to why you're feeling so nervous around me. You've never acted like that before."

He speaks with a voice of concern, and he looks at you with calm orbs in the shade of soft blue. You turn to look at the colorful books in front of you and stare at them with uneasiness, letting out the breath you've been holding on to since he grabbed your hand.

"Well, I umm... since I don't really stay with the crowd, the guys always look at me weird. I try not to talk to them, but that gives them the wrong impression of me. I've caught some of them giving me strange looks, and I thought you looked at me the same way."

Armin listens carefully, and he speaks through a friendly smile. "I would never think of you that way. I know you're a quiet person, so being in a room full of people can be pretty nerve-racking."

    You laugh. "Yeah."

The quiet air returns, but only for a few minutes until Armin pulls you into a deserted part of the store and desides to break it again. He does it sweetly, like he always does.

"Close your eyes for a sec."

Your eyes widen, face up in flames.

    "What?"

"Just for a second. Close your eyes and turn towards me."

With your hand still in his, you close your eyes after looking at his pleading gaze. Your face is still burning, but when Armin lifts your hand up and gives it a soft kiss, the color of your face burns into a deep red.

He lifts your other hand and kisses it too, rubbing your fingers lightly with the pad of his thumb. The blond moves in closer and kisses your right cheek, then your left. His eyelashes flutter against your skin as he kisses the spot between your eyebrows, his breath light and calm.

When you feel him move away, you open your eyes and watch him smile charmingly, a small giggle bubbling in his chest.

"I don't think I'm allowed to kiss your lips," he says. "So I think this will have to do for now."

You smile back at him, whispering a small thank you to which he replies with another soft kiss on your nose. An embrace ends the night with calming thoughts, and the kiss he leaves on your head flutters into your heart and makes you smile once again.
